(glimpses) - on a wave

in a different life, we live among the palms and not canopied oaks and maples




where even stormy skies and seas come in shades of blues unimagined and beautiful...





the storms pass quickly here unlike the way they do at home ...

and kind sentinels stand watch as we play in the coming waves ...

 and inthis beautiful way (in these few short days away)  a girl turns one year older and closer to becoming who she will be ...happy summer all!

(glimpses) - graceful mechanics

during the very last bit of our holiday recess, we managed to squeeze our one and only day trip …a drive into Cambridge, MA with our destination this time being the MIT Museum .



among slowly moving mechanics that beat quiet rhythms,  the baby doll gently rocking endlessly to the transparent mechanics that

and the mechanical man who attempted  emotional expressions through the varied lessons of passing strangers,

and the faucet that dripped perpetually metal beads of water


the autumn leaf's graceful balanced walk on the turning wheel.  all knew not if it called themselves machine or art, but maybe names don't matter …the exhibit titled "5000 Moving Parts" is up through November 2014, so there's time to see these gracefully mechanical thoughts if you have the chance….

(glimpses) - animal crossing

  

things have been getting busy these days with the cows, the cats, and the rabbits who have all come for new pictures to be taken. the rooster and horse who have suddenly shied away from the camera and could not be here today, but to be sure all the animals are all hoping to debut as the cow has over at my new vimeo account.  Of course they know all things take time, as they all ways do. So when the time is right,  they'll also be sure to visit on both vimeo and on my facebook page.

she has made me a fairy like herself ....

weaving a jewel like Autumn crown .... so we two might run like the wind  ... along side the falling leaves....oh how  I wish ... these autumn queens might stay a bit longer before those last leaves fall ....

The young artist has been busy these last weeks ...

 she has completed many works in this time

and would have done more ...

... had her study schedule not returned so soon ... I am hopeful she will have time soon to return to the workshop... where she has set up her studio ...

for the time being  ...  she remains elusive ....

I can not say how long visiting the "dinosaur museum" has been on my child's list ... Our days speed faster than we know as we all grow older with our children....

I love how summer's travels can lead us to unexpected places ....roads that lead us back to old friends  ...  friends from other times when we were just young ourselves ...

.... to stones that bloom eternally

 

 
.... and fragments that tell the story of what the hands of living and ancient people once did

 ... life frozen still behind glass

and great dinosaurs in many shapes and sizes...

A young child turns her attention to the details of knowing , she takes notes and pictures ... and dreams her dreams of ancient worlds...

Hope your summer travels have taken you to places still unknown, old and new ...

(glimpses) - between raindrops

between the raindrops that tamed the heat wave

 and summer's wild berries gathered along the way ...

and the "bird berry preserves"  and mud cakes she made beneath the shade of the full maple leaves

and Mister One made his much anticipated return ...

and our travels that saw a child age another year

plants are growing ... summer is racing  towards autumn ... wishing that your gardens are growing full and these long summer days are full of much time with good friends and family!!
